Our Inclusive Community

Agudath Sholom means Society of Peace in English.  We have been a part of the larger Lynchburg community for over 120 years.Guided by the precepts of the Reform Jewish Movement, we warmly welcome all who are interested in participating in our community.Originating from varied backgrounds, together we make up a diverse group.  Some of us were raised in different Jewish denominations, and some were raised without affiliation.  Some of us were raised in other faith communities and some were raised without religious participation. We are single, married, divorced, widowed, and adopted. We warmly welcome all ages, abilities, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations and gender identities, as our congregation members come together forming a richly diverse extended family. We are here to offer support in times of need, joy in times of celebration, and at all times we share trust, friendship and community.
